water is where we come from and it is where we will return
we carry the sea with us, in our tears, to wash our eyes, unfit for the earth's atmosphere
the ocean terrifies and enthralls us, as it has since we could first comprehend her vastness
primates flapping playfully on a beach, tens of thousands of years ago
prying open mussels and clams for quick, plentiful protein
swimming, hunting, playing
water is what we are and why we are here
it's delicious and refreshing and necessary for life
we are born in a watery womb, our own, tiny, nutritious oceans within us
just as all life was once born from the earth's own watery womb
